It is hard to determine whether it is a more colossal waste of time for me to write the Grote Poll, or for you to read it.  Either way, this is the first installment of the Grote Poll since 2005, and you can expect it to continue.  Grotepoll.com will expands beyond the constraints of the poll itself.  Keep checking in, we are just getting started.  I use the term "we" not in the manner of the old royal plural, rather to acknowledge that the site has been built by somebody far less inept than me.  I'm learning as I go, and will add content and coverage frequently from here on out.  The man with the plan who has helped to build this site is a graduate of the University of Kentucky, otherwise known as "The M.I.T. West of Appalachia", so rest assured that Grotepoll.com will be cutting-edge, high powered modern technology.

The Grote Poll thrived from time to time, beginning with the latter stages of my time at the University of Portland and continuing into the early 2000's.  Lack of time, a marriage, owning a business, coaching, and a Weimaraner led me to stop the poll after 2005 NCAA's.  Perhaps the real reason was that I knew the horror that was coming in green and gold the past few years and couldn't bare to watch.  The current state of affairs with Stanfurd emerging as a superpower are no more pleasant.  Nonetheless, the Grote Poll returns like never before.

There will be no message board, just other crap from me.  For now, the Grote Poll is the big thing, but stay tuned for other events like group runs in the Garden State and what not, as soon as I figure out how to add things to the "Where's Grote" area.  In the short term, I will be at the NJ Meet of Champions and NCAA Championships, and possibly the Mid-Atlantic Regional.
