'Tis the season to do some silly things involving excess and unnecessary discomfort that combine food drink and some sort of running.  First, group run from Morristown Running Company, this Sunday 9 AM...nice hilly backroads and some trails, providing snow melts enough.  Good spot for the running of the long variety, methinks.  Looking ahead a bit...the first ever that I'm aware of Cluck-U Run on Tuesday, December 22nd, starting 6:15ish PM from Morristown Running Company...

Mercifully, the 20-mile splits were wrong...1:47:46...I thought he sucked for a minute there.  Solid race to cap a solid year for the young Buff in his first year out of school.  Very proud moment for me...I am working at Morristown Running Company today, had a great long run in Mendham, was excited to see online splits...disappointed to see the 20...and thrilled to get the call.  Chris has made many proud today...can't believe the guy is 23 and now an Olympic Trials qualifier...still remember him in 8th grade getting his first pair of Mizuno's...or frosh year running 17:mid at Holmdel...or soph year running 4:18 and making MoC...or junior year breaking 16, making Millrose, moving up to the deuce...or senior year 12:22 at Vanny, 9:02 indoors on the flat in flats...or an honorable, patient career at CU.  2:18:24...GO BUFFS!

Hunterdon Central and Colorado alum Chris Pannone makes his marathon debut at California International this Sunday, 7AM out west.  The Bros. Rosa, Catholic school stalwarts Morgan Pearson and Mike Mazzacarro, as well as Hillsborough's Ashley Smolinka tackle the cross in Portland at NXN.  Hopefully somebody from Jersey finally takes my advice and goes to King Burrito in North Portland...
