They might be a contender...
After watching an HBO special on the subject, I am unsure about the whole natural gas thing, but I am pretty sure that OkState has a pretty good thing going. Dave Smith is getting it done in a big way in Stillwater. While I have no allegiances or ties to OkState and don't get giddy about them as I may about Portland, CU, or more recently Syracuse and The University of Vigilante, I also don't have any negative sentiment towards OkState like say (the list is long, I am a bitter man): Stanfurd, Oregon, the Red Sox, the Patriots, soccer, salad, American Idol, J-Lo, The Ducks, France, Lewis Hamilton, Frick and Frack, the Easter Bunny, JJ White, and Stanfurd. I was actually happy to see them win the NCAA Championship last fall, partially because it beat the alternative (see above list) but also because its hard not to like what is going on at OkState. German Fernandez is an inspiring and captivating talent, when he lines up and pins on a number its going to be interesting.
Jimmy Chitwood, Shooter...
Or the red-haired kid who shoots underhanded free throws? Things looked swell for Indiana
up through Big 10's last year, but went off like Norman Dale on a bad ref at regionals on their home course. These Hoosiers have an excellent, talented young group with track credentials that should carry them to the promised land of Terre Haute...a place everybody in Bloomington dreams of visiting as often as possible.
